Our story
I adopted my first dog in 2018 from Forever Home Rescue. Her name was Adair, and she was part of the “A” litter. I decided to call her Addie.
We had lots of adventures and did lots of training - basic obedience and fun tricks. Through a class at Petco, Puppy Play and Learn at the MSPCA, and additional training at Canine College in Holbrook, Addie and I bonded.
In 2020, I started fostering dogs. I wanted to contribute the efforts that rescues and shelters were making to help dogs and also see how Addie would do with a canine sibling. Now, I have fostered over 10 dogs ranging from a pair of 6-week-old puppies to a 10-year-old pittie mix. Not all of our foster dogs were a great match for Addie, and some dogs immediately hit it off with Addie. We learned a lot about what we could handle and that dogs come in all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. We were joyful and heartbroken each time a foster dog found their forever family.
After a move to San Francisco, I adopted my second dog at the beginning of 2024. After fostering two puppy littermates for over one month, the puppy with the classic German Shepherd Dog coat was adopted, but the puppy with a black coat and white markings experienced Black Dog Syndrome and did not receive any applications. He was mellow and adorable - the perfect second dog. I decided to adopt him and name him Bear.
In mid-2024, having been in the youth-serving non-profit space for several years at that point, I acted upon my love for dogs and become a dog walker and trainer. We moved back to Boston, and I started off on Rover and Wag, while completing dog training courses.
Our company was born - “A” for Addie, “Z” for Zoe, and “A to Z” to encompass Bear and all of our future canine family.
